The story begins in a quiet residential area with a house that has a red roof. Eighteen years ago, the person who murdered their parents and dismembered their bodies in this house was their biological daughter, Shaya Qingtian, along with her lover, Hidetaka Koyuan. During the trial, Koyuan published his autobiography, "Too Early", and admitted that he had previously seduced the girl. During the trial, Shaya was brainwashed by him and was found guilty of the crimes, while Koyuan, the main culprit, was sentenced to death, and Shaya received a life sentence. Years later, the new writer, Sanna Oozura, approached Ryo Hashimoto, the editor responsible for "Too Early", and planned to write a novel based on the events. To serialize the novel, Hashimoto and Sanna interviewed relevant people, including Koyuan's wife, Reiko Koyuan, who was married to him in prison, and Koyuan's former mistress, the former genius editor, Seiko Ichikawa. However, the two ultimately became ensnared in dark emotions such as jealousy and inferiority.
