Yao Qixing (played by Fang Zhongxin) and Chou Shuiqiang (played by Sammi Cheng) are assigned to deal with the killer Wang, who is a kidnapper. After a fierce gunfight, the killer is mortally wounded. Before he dies, he angrily vows that he will not spare Yao Qixing even in death. Yao Qixing has a special gene flowing in his blood, and as the seventh son in his family, he possesses the ability to see ghosts. By chance, Yao Qixing sees his friend who was killed by the killer. The friend tells Yao Qixing that the killer will return from the underworld on the seventh day after his death to seek revenge, which terrifies Yao Qixing. His boss, Madam Xu (played by Liang Minyi), sends Yao Qixing and Chou Shuiqiang to handle paperwork at the No. 7 Police Station, where Yao Qixing meets the experienced paranormal consultant Nan Maby (played by Yuan Hua), who becomes his last ray of hope.
