Phoenix (played by Wu Jinxin), who grew up in an orphanage, is determined to take revenge on the killer of her mother. The clue is a priceless gold nugget in the shape of a dog’s head. However, things take an unexpected turn as Matchstick and Phoenix's feelings for each other evolve, and they become lovers. Lord Long turns out to be both the murderer of Phoenix's mother and her biological father. Matchstick dies; the assistant girl dies; and Lord Long commits suicide as well. Phoenix sadly leaves Lord Long's villa, disbands the Phoenix Society, donates the gold nugget to a museum, and quietly departs.
