 Synopsis
Takagi Kazuko (played by Yoshino Kimura), who works as a bookstore manager, experienced a family tragedy during her teenage years and was forced to separate from her younger brother. Many years later, her brother Asano Mamoru (played by Sou Nakamura) lives a simple and happy life with his adoptive father (played by Ren Osugi), while Kazuko can only silently bless him from a distance. Until one day, a series of unexpected events shatters this peace. Kazuko had previously worked in elderly care, and her peer Yukimi (played by Eiko Kokubun) lured Kazuko and others into committing nursing fraud under the pretense of work. Now, one by one, the accomplices who carried out the fraud have died in accidents, and her brother’s adoptive father is imprisoned for accidentally killing one of the accomplices. At this time, Kazuko approaches her isolated brother, and a series of seemingly mysterious phone calls gradually leads them to a dead end... This film is adapted from the novel of the same name by Yuki Miyabe.
