"The Day Of The Triffids" has many different translated titles in China. Regardless of its name, seasoned science fiction readers have probably read it, as it is one of the earlier science fiction novels introduced and translated into Chinese in our country. The novel was created by science fiction writer John Wyndham and was first published in 1951. It is one of the representative works of disaster-themed science fiction. In the 1980s, the BBC adapted it for television, receiving a favorable response from audiences. Now, over 20 years later, the BBC is once again adapting it into a two-part miniseries, set to air on December 28 and 29. The new version of "The Day Of The Triffids" stars Dougray Scott, Joely Richardson, Brian Cox, Vanessa Redgrave, Eddie Izzard, and Jason Priestley.
