Afterward, Sayo seizes the opportunity to kill a thug and, while in prison, she colludes with the prison guards and officials to ensure she gives birth to a daughter named Yuki-hime. Sayo's fellow inmates sympathize with her plight and try every means to have Yuki-hime trained by the skilled monk and minister Dōkai (played by Akira Nishimura). This film is adapted from a manga script by Ikki Kiyoshi and illustrated by Kazuhiko Uesugi, and its theme song was later used by Quentin Tarantino in 'Kill Bill'.
