A quiet morning in Philadelphia without warning, former UN investigator Gary Lane (Brad Pitt) drives a car with his wife Karen (Mireille Enos) and two daughters Rachel (Abigail Hargrove) and Connie (Sterling Jerins) out.Unexpectedly, the originally happy atmosphere quickly became replaced by panic and death. The series of explosions, the fleeing crowds, disorderly car accidents, and zombies that bit others, and the prosperous metropolis fell in an instant.Gary tried his best to escape with his wife and daughter, and eventually fled to the aircraft carrier where the UN Deputy Secretary-General was located. He then learned that several heads of major powers, including the US President, had all died and the zombie virus had spread all over the world.In order to prevent the destruction of the world, Gerry was ordered to go to the source of the virus to find a way to resolve the crisis with Fassbuck (played by Elyes Gabel), a doctor of virology from Harvard.
