In this world, there are always some people who are remembered for their maverickness.Yang (Max von Sydow) and Eva (Liv Ullmann) are a unique musician couple. The arrival of war destroys their homeland on which they rely for survival. In order to escape the war, they took a boat to an island, where the couple lived a pastoral life of sunrise and sunset.The good times did not last long, and the war quickly spread to the island. The army and the guerrillas that followed were fighting each other. The peaceful life that Yang and Eva finally got was once again facing a huge crisis. Fortunately, their friend Jacques (Gunnar Björnstrand) generously rescued them, and they were able to escape from danger.However, what Yang couldn't accept was that Jacques was also his rival in love while being his benefactor. The impure relationship between him and Eva made Yang feel jealous.
