Fifteen years into this peaceful era, the notorious thief Ishikawa Goemon (played by Yosuke Eguchi), known for robbing the rich to help the poor, became famous and beloved by the impoverished. On the night of a grand celebration, Goemon sneaked into a wealthy man's home to steal, leading to the death of the wealthy man and his family at the hands of one of the Five Elders, Ishida Mitsunari. It turned out that Goemon had stolen a box containing a shocking secret and then carelessly discarded it.
