During the Republic of China period, Shen Qingzhi (played by Lu Guandong), as the rising star in the antiques world, refused to sell a Tianmu cup to foreigners at an auction, even going so far as to smash it to protect it. This action provoked the resentment of foreign businessman George, who colluded with Yan Qingmei to frame Shen Qingzhi by forging fakes. However, Shen easily resolved this threat, gaining fame but also incurring the ire of many. Yet, at an antique appraisal event, Shen was framed and expelled from the antiques community, leading the Yan family and George to become the leaders of the antique appraisal scene in Shanghai, as they collaborated to forge ancient treasures known as listening wind vases to further entrap their peers. A larger conspiracy was brewing behind the scenes in the antiques trade. In this context, Shen Qingzhi, having fallen from grace, received help from archaeology expert Professor Zhou, beginning his efforts to regroup. However, in his endeavors, he inadvertently approached a much larger secret behind the listening wind vase.
