In near-future Japan, humanity blindly seeks the development of material standards while neglecting the importance of environmental protection. Every day, a large amount of industrial waste is generated and piled up in the suburbs of cities without treatment. Over time, the waste accumulates into a mountain, becoming the chilling 'Black Fuji.' More seriously, Black Fuji accumulated a large number of toxic and harmful substances, and humans, plagued by radiation and erosion, ultimately turn into bloodthirsty, soulless zombies. The fate of humanity hangs by a thread. At this critical moment, however, two people remain completely unconcerned. The curly-haired man (played by Tadanobu Asano) and the bald man (played by Shō Aikawa), who work at a fire extinguisher factory in the Edogawa district of Tokyo, are two martial arts enthusiasts who are indifferent to their jobs and spend their days engrossed in studying jujutsu. Their indifference angers their boss, Fujimoto (played by Keitaro Shiga), who is accidentally killed by the two during an argument. The two bury the boss's body on Black Fuji, but Fujimoto turns into a zombie and revives. As more zombies appear, the two finally realize the gravity of the situation... This film is based on the manga of the same name by Yusaku Hanakuma.
