American blind writer Johnson (Van Johnson) rents an apartment on Baker Street in London, where he plans to perform his new drama.After an argument with his ex-fiancee (Vera Miles), he heads to a local bar and immerses himself in alcohol to hide his self-pity.In the bar, he used his keen hearing to capture silent conversation in a telephone booth.For Johnson, the clips seem to reveal an upcoming kidnapping plot.Although he asked the police for help, the police politely expressed doubts about him and refused to believe his premonition.However, Johnson believed in the information he heard and decided to seek help from Villa and his secretary Cecil to find the kidnappers and save the potential victims.
