During the reign of Emperor Taizong of the Tang Dynasty, it is said that a fragment of the prophetic text 'Tui Bei Tu', which can predict the trends of the world, resurfaced. Rumors spread across the land, claiming that the former empress Xiao was about to reincarnate and seize power again. Several bizarre and brutal murder cases occurred one after another, all suspicion pointing to the favored concubine Yu. Amidst the public's unease, the famous and hedonistic scholar Li Mobai entered the court seeking a position in order to serve the people, seizing the opportunity to compose poetry for the concubine, while being tasked with investigating the mysteries of murder cases. He vowed to 'write three hundred poems, solving three hundred cases'. Li Mobai, along with three companions—Dongnan, Nian Nu, and Yuan Danqiu—found themselves embroiled in a massive conspiracy while protecting the safety of the people and unraveling the mysteries of the cases.
