 Synopsis
By chance, Helen (played by Helena Bonham Carter) and Margaret (played by Emma Thompson) met the Wilkes family. At Howard's End, owned by the Wilkes family, Margaret was closest to Mrs. Wilkes (played by Vanessa Redgrave), while Helen left the Wilkes family after a brief romance with Paul (played by Joseph Bennett). Before her death, Mrs. Wilkes left the entire Howard's End to Margaret, a fact that Henry (played by Anthony Hopkins) concealed, instead proposing to Margaret. After leaving Howard's End, Helen met a man named Buster (played by Samuel West), and they got along well. When Margaret saw Helen again, she was shocked to find that Helen, who was not yet married, was pregnant, and this led to disdain and expulsion from the Wilkes family's eldest son, Charles (played by James Wilby). ©Douban
