In the ice forest near the Arctic Circle, there lives an ordinary yet extraordinary father-daughter pair. The father, Eric Heller (played by Eric Bana), was a CIA operative who was active in Eastern Europe and Central Asia during the 1990s, possessing rich experience. However, for some unknown reason, he ended up living in this inhospitable cold place with his daughter Hanna. After over ten years of arduous training, Hanna (played by Saoirse Ronan) has finally grown into a knowledgeable and skilled young fighter. One day, feeling ready, Hanna presses her father's signal transmitter, and soon the U.S. receives the message. Eric's former contact, Marissa (played by Cate Blanchett), claims that this long-missing operative possesses very sensitive secrets, prompting her to lead a scheming ambush. Hanna is thrust into a bloody battle with her frail body...
