Guanggu Shanyan (played by Eiji Okuda) is a screenwriter. One day, his former friend Ryo-suke approached him, hoping that Shanyan could do him a favor. Ryo-suke and his wife Aya plan to live abroad, and he wants Shanyan to take care of their home in Japan and help him proofread a dictionary. Meanwhile, Aya finds a woman named Reiko to help her manage a small tea shop, thus Shanyan and Reiko meet under the same roof. It turns out that Shanyan and Aya once had mutual feelings for each other; however, an accident forced Shanyan to face three years in prison. During this time, Ryo-suke seized the opportunity to take Aya away, while Shanyan has always harbored feelings for Aya deep inside. After their marriage, the relationship between Aya and Shanyan has never been good. In a twist of fate, Shanyan and Reiko have a physical relationship, and Aya returns to Japan from abroad.
