In 1845, the young Victor awakened his potential during a sudden argument among the elders with his brother James. In a moment of desperation, James killed their unknown biological father. From then on, the two brothers wandered the battlefield, unleashing carnage in wars throughout various eras thanks to their unyielding bodies and beast-like talents, until they met Major Striker and joined his special team of mutants. James (played by Hugh Jackman) quickly grew tired of slaughtering the weak and left the team and Victor (played by Liev Schreiber), retreating to the mountains with his girlfriend Kayla to become a lumberjack. Six years later, James was shocked to learn that his former super-powered teammates were being killed, with the killer being none other than his brother Victor. Soon, Kayla also fell victim to him. Angered, James worked with Striker to modify his body, becoming the steel-skinned 'Wolverine.'
