Middle-aged man Frank Walker (played by George Clooney) and the girl beside him, Casey Newton (played by Britt Robertson), vent their frustrations, lamenting that modern society is filled with war, hunger, disasters, and various injustices. He recalls an experience from his childhood. Back then, young Frank (played by Thomas Robinson) brought his proud invention to a theme park, only to be met with disdain. However, the beautiful girl Athena (played by Raffey Cassidy) secretly came to his aid, showing him a breathtaking future world. In contrast, Casey is an optimistic girl full of fantasies about the future, dreaming of venturing into space one day. Driven by her aspirations, she even sneaks into NASA, getting herself into quite a bit of trouble, but in doing so, she obtains a mysterious badge that leads her to meet Frank. The encounter of this older and younger character makes the once distant future world feel much closer...
