 Synopsis
Ellie Arroway (played by Jodie Foster) has been fascinated by radio communication since childhood. As she grew up, she became an astronomer, working on a project to receive signals from outer space, hoping to find evidence of other civilizations in the universe. However, her genius ideals are met with skepticism from investors, and fortunately, a mysterious person helps Ellie continue her work. By chance, Ellie receives a frequency signal from Vega, which seems to validate her work. But this brings not success in her personal career, but rather conflicts and discussions from political, social, religious, and national perspectives. Caught in the eye of this storm, Ellie must also confront her complicated feelings with the clergyman Palmer Joss (played by Matthew McConaughey). Faced with challenges that far surpass academic realms, Ellie grapples with personal versus global issues, and the conflict between truth and reality.
