The story is set in the countryside of North Carolina and revolves around the Hayes family. The Hayes are a typical loving family, and when their 17-year-old daughter Kayla returns home after spending ten years in a mental rehabilitation center, the family begins to seek a fresh start. However, their good fortune is short-lived as Kayla's disturbing thoughts about death begin to haunt her and the entire family.
