Tendo Hinaka (played by Satou Tamako) and her sister Hazuki (played by Imura Sorami) lost their parents at a young age, leaving the two sisters to depend on each other and struggle to get by. As they grew up, the dance-loving Hinaka opened a dance school. She became beautiful and graceful, captivating many admirers. Although Hazuki was also talented, she seemed overshadowed by her sister, like the moon that can only shine by reflecting the light of the sun. With a dance competition approaching, Hinaka encouraged her sister to participate, but Hazuki had yet to find a suitable dance partner. Hinaka's dance partner, Ryoukai (played by Katsuno Youfu), had a crush on Hazuki, and by chance, the two began practicing together, developing a good rapport. This sparked jealousy in Hinaka, leading to constant quarrels between her and Ryoukai, and creating a rift between the sisters. Unable to endure it any longer, Hinaka sought out a tattoo artist, asking them to ink an indelible design on her sister's back... This film is adapted from the novel "Tattoo" by Jun'ichirou Tanizaki, commemorating the 100th anniversary of its publication.
