This is a story that once really happened. The relationships of four people become entangled, and the chaotic passions push each person towards the climax of fate. At the villa of the wealthy young man Gent (played by August Diehl), friends come together for a lakeside party, including his friend Paul (played by Daniel Brühl). The two agree that while living in this world, they must seek the happiest love, and once that love deteriorates, they must decisively end it. Gent's sister Heidi (played by Anna Maria Mühe) is an open-minded woman who believes in living for the moment and never ties herself down to one man. Paul is deeply in love with her, but he is unaware that Heidi views their relationship merely as a game. The party begins in full swing, when another person appears: Gent's other boyfriend Hans (played by Thure Lindhardt).
