Synopsis

1. In the town of Finara, engineer Swano (played by Kim Rossi Stuart) encounters schoolteacher Carmen (played by Sastre), and they fall in love at first sight. However, Carmen rejects Swano's kiss. When they meet again three years later, Swano refrains from succumbing to temptation; 2. In a seaside town, a director (played by John Malkovich) happens upon a beautiful woman (played by Sophie Marceau). She confesses to the director that she has killed her father with her own hands. Instead of growing distant, they become more tender and intertwined; 3. In Paris, a wife leaves her unfaithful husband and, while looking for a place to rent, meets Carlo (played by Jean Reno), who has lost his wife. They seem to find a common emotional bond; 4. A handsome boy falls in love with a girl (played by Ir Jacob). He follows her and professes his feelings, only to learn that she is going to dedicate herself to God. This film won the Best Arrangement award at the 1996 Silver Ribbon Awards of the Italian Film Press Association and the FIPRESCI Prize at the 1995 Venice Film Festival.
