 Synopsis
Overall, this movie lacks character development. At one point, it follows the most chilling gangster (Flavio Bucci in 'Night Train Murders') back to his home, where he cohabitates with the wife and child of another gangster. However, rather than character development, it seems more like an excuse for another sex scene. Placido's character has an interesting flashback where he works on a filthy fishing boat, which creates a stark contrast to his fantasy of driving a yacht. The film has a strong class consciousness as it depicts this poor Sicilian boy falling in love with a wealthy northern girl (the Italian title 'La Orca' comes from the designer clothes she wears). Placido performs quite well here, but this handsome, fair-skinned guy playing a lower-class Sicilian thug is not very convincing. As for Inahouse, I can't tell if she has bad acting skills or if she is just playing a very annoying character (she resembles Paris Hilton rather than Patty Hearst). She does appear nude a few times, and from the perspective of the English title, that's a primary consideration.
