This drama is adapted from Keigo Higashino's novel of the same name, telling the story of a father, Chōmune Shōju (played by Toyohira Takeuchi), who relies on his daughter and becomes a murderer seeking revenge after she is brutally killed. Since the death of his wife, Chōmune has been raising his daughter, Eima, alone, and now she is in high school. One night, after Eima goes to work, she does not return home. When Chōmune next sees his daughter, she is already a cold corpse, with signs of having been violated. A few days later, Chōmune receives a mysterious phone call revealing the names and addresses of the culprits who harmed his daughter. After much hesitation, he decides to go find them. After breaking into the culprits' home, he discovers a video documenting the brutal abuse that led to his daughter's death. Just then, one of the murderers returns home, and in a fit of anger, Chōmune kills him. He then begins to seek revenge on the other murderer. Since both of the culprits who killed his daughter are minors, they cannot be sentenced to death. As a father, is Chōmune Shōju's act of revenge for his daughter right or wrong?
