Eugénie is a radiant and passionate young woman living in the 19th century. She has a special gift: the ability to hear and see the deceased. After her family discovers this secret, she is sent to the Salpêtrière hospital, a mental asylum, by her father and brothers, leaving her with no chance to escape her fate. This asylum is managed by the renowned Professor Charcot, a pioneer in neurology and psychiatry, who housed women diagnosed with hysteria, madness, epilepsy, and all types of somatic and mental disorders. The path that Eugénie will take next will lead her to Geneviève, a female nurse in neurology, whose life is fading before her eyes, yet she has never truly lived. Their encounter will change their destinies. They are preparing for Charcot's famous "Crazy Beauty Ball" held at the asylum every year.
