After tragically dying from a lightning strike, Alan (played by Ko Chen-tung) arrives in the underworld, with all his memories reset. He must make a choice: reincarnate but possibly turn into a snail; or take on a divine role to accumulate merit for a proper human rebirth? Alan decides to become a novice of Yue Lao (the god of marriage). He partners with the fiery Pinky (played by Wang Jing) to execute tasks in the human realm.
