Synopsis

Lola is ambitious and relentlessly pursues fame and profit. As a management consultant, she is responsible for assisting different companies with structural reorganizations, but how does she reorganize her own life? Always busy with work, flying to different cities for business trips, dining with clients, and hitting the gym, beneath the glamorous exterior of a career woman lies a deeply hidden secret: her sister suffers from mental illness, has self-destructive tendencies, and is plagued by delusions of persecution. Lola is constantly receiving her sister's calls for help, and her orderly life begins to spiral out of control. Marielle Heller combines the story of a strong woman with elements of psychological suspense and horror, revealing the thin line between normalcy and insanity. This film was selected for the competition section of the Berlin Film Festival.
