In pursuit of love, a girl from Suzhou, Cheng Zixian (played by Gao Yuanyuan), comes to Hong Kong with her boyfriend and works at a financial company. However, her boyfriend falls in love with someone else, leaving Zixian deeply hurt. By chance, she meets architect Fang Qihong (played by Wu Yanzu), who is also going through a bottleneck in his career. They encourage each other, and Zixian decides to let go of everything related to her ex-boyfriend, while Qihong resolves to start anew, promising to show Zixian his latest design drawings in a week. On the night of their date, however, Zixian fails to show up. It turns out that across from her office, Zhang Shenran (played by Gu Tianle), the boss of another company, has been watching her for a long time. During her period of disappointment, they communicate through colorful sticky notes, and Zixian gradually develops feelings for this big boy. Zixian forgets her promise with Qihong and arranges to meet Shenran at a café, but Shenran ends up sleeping in another woman's bed.
Misdirected fates cause a temporary interruption in the connection among the three people. Until one day three years later, the unfinished love story continues...
