The Queen Consort of Jinlun (played by Ye Yiqing) has an affair with her cousin Ouyang Feng (played by Tony Leung) in a bid to seize the throne. They poison the king but fail to find the imperial jade seal. Upon learning that the seal is in the possession of the Third Princess (played by Brigitte Lin), who is seeking help from her master at Jiugong Mountain, Ouyang Feng attempts to steal it but is unsuccessful. The muddled national master (played by Maggie Cheung) succumbs under pressure and uncovers the Third Princess's whereabouts.
