Synopsis

Senior Inspector He Shangsheng (played by Lau Ching-wan) is confronted by the kidnapper Yi Jian (played by Zheng Yijian) who has taken hostages. Yi Jian calls out to meet at the crime scene for negotiations, and seeing Yi Jian's arrogance on the scene, He Shangsheng is determined to take him down but he escapes. This setback ignites He Shangsheng's fighting spirit and curiosity, leading him to engage in a 'ransom game' with Yi Jian. He Shangsheng receives several remnants of artworks sent by Yi Jian, and with the help of Interpol officer Ruby (played by Huang Zhuoling), he discovers that the damaged artworks are all insured by the same international insurance company. He suspects that Yi Jian intends to extort that insurance company, so he proceeds to investigate. Meanwhile, Yi Jian happens to call the company's senior manager Teresa (played by Lin Xilai) to extort ten million, and Shangsheng immediately takes over the case, but soon realizes that things are far more complicated than he imagined.
