 Synopsis
In 1939, Tom Martin, an American who had participated in the Spanish Civil War, was on the verge of being executed by the fascist victor. Journalist Augusta "Gusto" Nash helped him carry out a daring escape in order to get an exclusive story. Tom naturally wanted to develop a romance with Gusto; however, despite her feelings for him, her career was her top priority, while Tom was more inclined to fight for freedom rather than settle down. The comedy turned into tragedy, as their complex emotions led them down a winding path amidst the increasingly deepening chaos and disaster at the beginning of World War II.
