Although both are police officers, Huang Jiang (played by Danny Lee) and Qi Xi (played by Lau Ching-wan) are like brothers, they have vastly different approaches to their work. Huang Jiang is upright and principled, while Qi Xi is a sworn brother of the gangster leader Blind Chao (played by Francis Ng). During a certain operation, Huang Jiang, under pressure, ends up killing both Qi Xi and Blind Chao, and does not explain his reasons afterward, leading to misunderstandings from Qi Xi's wife. More than ten years later, Qi Xi's son (played by Huang Hao-ran) and Blind Chao's son A Wei (played by Chan Siu-chun) grow up, each inheriting their fathers' legacies to become a police officer and a gangster leader, respectively. A Wei has always sought revenge for his father's death, and Qi Xi's son begins to share that mindset without understanding the truth, but after learning the facts, he struggles with whether to choose the criminal side or the police side.
