 Synopsis
The second part continues the style of the first part while presenting a multi-threaded storyline, increasing the plot's entertainment value. At the end of the first part, Boromir is killed by the powerful orcs, and the two hobbits, Pippin and Merry, are also captured by the strong orcs. Aragorn, the elf Legolas (played by Orlando Bloom), and the dwarf Gimli pursue the strong orcs to rescue Pippin and Merry, encountering the 'resurrected' white wizard Gandalf (played by Ian McKellen). At this point, Saruman the white wizard, who has surrendered to Sauron, controls the king of the human kingdom of Rohan and sends out a large army of strong orcs to destroy humanity. Under Gandalf's leadership, Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli help the kingdom of Rohan fight against the invasion of evil forces. Fortunately, Pippin and Merry are rescued by talking tree-ents and meet the 'resurrected' Gandalf. At Gandalf's suggestion, the tree-ents protect the safety of the two and take them to the entmoot, where they discuss their stance on the war in Middle-earth: should they remain neutral and submissive, or rise up to resist? Meanwhile, the burdened Frodo (played by Elijah Wood) and Sam continue their journey towards Mount Doom, being followed by Gollum along the way. Frodo, using the power of the One Ring, becomes Gollum's master, and under Gollum's guidance, they reach the entrance to Mount Doom, the Black Gate. Just as they are about to enter, Boromir's brother Faramir appears and takes them back to Gondor. Frodo faces a new crisis: Faramir wants to use the power of the One Ring to counter Saruman's attack...
