In 1944, the German army deployed heavy forces to guard a bridge within Yugoslavia, while SS Colonel Dr. Hoffman schemed to prevent the guerrilla attacks. At the same time, Major 'Tiger' (played by Velimir 'Bata' Zivojinovic) received orders from higher-ups: to stop the Germans from regrouping, he must find the bridge engineer to blow up the bridge within seven days. Tiger formed a task force with his old comrade - demolition expert Zav donee (played by Boris Dvornik) - along with his assistant Bampino, the taciturn warrior Dichi, and the guerrilla who participated in building the bridge, Manna. Tiger rescued the engineer from the Gestapo, and during the approach to the bridge, they engaged in fierce battles with the German guard forces. Some guerrillas and couriers sacrificed themselves, but new reinforcements also joined. After uncovering the German spies infiltrating their ranks, the guerrillas finally managed to blow up the bridge.
