This thriller is set in Stockholm, Sweden, where the body of an abused little boy is found in a park. Detective Superintendent Janette Kilberg leads the murder investigation. As the detective deals with an indifferent prosecutor and bureaucratic police, two more dismembered children's bodies are discovered, confirming the existence of a serial killer. When Kilberg seeks help from therapist Sofia Zetterlund, their personal and professional lives intertwine as they realize that these murders are a clear evidence of insidious evil in Swedish society.
