The story depicts a mysterious tale about folklore and resentment. In the film, the protagonist Qi Hua (played by Wang Wanzhong) has lost her pure and kind fiancé, Qing Wen. To be with him forever, she follows her best friend’s advice and uses a form of folk witchcraft to turn Qing Wen's ashes into a human bone vase. From that moment on, Qi Hua begins to feel as if Qing Wen still exists in her home. However, as time passes, things gradually spiral out of control, and various supernatural and horrifying events begin to occur in Qi Hua's home.
