The TV anime "The Last Remaining Female" is based on the manga of the same name by LINK and illustrated by Kotaro Yashiro. The announcement for the animation adaptation was made on May 12, 2020, and it was produced by Studio 5 and AXsiZ, airing in 2021. The story is set in the year 2040. A young man named Reito, suffering from a rare disease, underwent cryogenic sleep treatment after agreeing to meet his childhood friend, Erisa. After five years, Reito wakes up to find that 99.9% of the male population has died from a virus, and the remaining 5 billion people are mostly women. Thus begins a near-future erotic mystery tale.
