 Synopsis
David (played by James Marsden) is a somewhat famous playwright. In search of a better creative environment, David returns to his picturesque southern hometown with his beloved wife, Amy (played by Kate Bosworth). The fresh air and relaxed lifestyle of their hometown feel novel to the two exhausted city dwellers, but beneath the beautiful scenery, the locals are far from friendly toward the newly arrived couple. Adopting a demeanor of wanting to avoid conflict, David chooses to silently endure the various discriminations from the outside world. Even after his wife is sexually assaulted by a local construction worker, he merely hopes to downplay the incident. However, David's continued tolerance only leads to escalating bullying. When a group of 'savages' attempts to invade his home, the formerly timid David chooses to pick up arms and fight to defend his last sanctuary.
