The famous USS Missouri battleship in American history is about to be decommissioned, and a grand celebration is attended by the president. On this day, it is also the birthday of the old captain, and the ship's chef—Seaman Ray Back (played by Steven Seagal) is busy preparing the banquet. The annoying deputy captain Quail clashes with Ray Back and locks him in the refrigerator. An entertainment troupe arrives at the ship, and just as the performance reaches its climax, the performers suddenly act in concert with Quail to attack the crew and take control of the Missouri. One of the 'performers,' Stroney (played by Tommy Lee Jones), was originally a CIA agent, skilled in naval operations. He collaborates with Quail to gain access to the launch codes for several Tomahawk missiles armed with nuclear warheads aboard the ship. The military is completely shocked by this terror attack and unable to respond, while Ray Back escapes from the refrigerator and becomes their only hope...
