The story is based on true events. It tells of American pilots during World War II who transported supplies from Alaska to a small town in Siberia, assisting the local Soviet Red Army in their fight. The planes carrying supplies from the American allies were piloted by a group of beautiful female pilots, which attracted the attention of the Russian young men at the entire Soviet airbase. Due to cultural and language differences, this led to many awkward, amusing, and somewhat tragic situations.
