The mischievous girl Mu Xiaoru and the aloof genius Yan Sui reunite after fifteen years due to the "cloud-piercing jade". One moment Mu Xiaoru is in a bookstore, and the next moment she unexpectedly travels into the world of a novel and faces being hunted. To find the cloud-piercing jade, Yan Sui can only team up with the book spirit Wan Wan to enter the story and save Xiaoru. In order to leave the novel's timeline and also help Yan Sui return home, the two work together to fulfill the wish of reversing their roles in the book. As they spend time together, they gradually open up to each other, and Yan Sui slowly lets go of his obsession with returning home for Xiaoru. However, after a fierce battle, Wan Wan, who had been loyally protecting them, suddenly loses consciousness and wants to eliminate all anomalies in the novel world. Yan Sui and Xiaoru are forced into a chaotic world. Will they ultimately succeed in waking Wan Wan, and can they regain their lives?
