The show is created, written, and produced by Chris Kelly and Sarah Schneider, with Lorne Michaels involved in production. The story follows a 29-year-old young actor (Drew Tarver) who feels very frustrated about his future—he has excellent acting skills and should have a bright future, so why is he only able to audition for a disgusting third-rate film like 'Man At Party Who Smells Fart'? His sister Brooke (Heléne Yorke), who is one year older, was once a professional child dancing star. Her situation mirrors her brother's, as she ended up as a nobody despite everyone's high hopes for her. The two siblings decide to search for themselves together, but they must face an awkward and even jealous reality... their 12-year-old little brother Chase has become an overnight internet sensation, which really hurts their self-esteem. Chase is played by real-life internet celebrity Case Walker. Molly Shannon plays the siblings' mother Pat, who, despite her age, is not shy about trying to shine again... because she is ready to give Hollywood a shot. Ken Marino plays Chase's new agent, who, feeling very lonely, desperately wants to fit into Chase's family. Wanda Sykes plays Chase's record publisher.
