The story background shifts from the grand halls of the Jianghu to the lively and ordinary alleyways of the city. Shen Jianxin, invited by the leader Li Wangsheng, travels to Chang'an to establish the Chang'an Pure Yang office, making a living by setting up a fortune-telling stall. During these days of 'long drifting' in Chang'an, Shen Jianxin is no longer the heroic figure renowned throughout the Jianghu, as some misconceptions about the world and insufficient judgment of the current environment lead to a series of strange and humorous events.
