At Ridgeway High School in America, a girl named Maddy (played by Caitlin Stasey) is filming a documentary about her friend Alex (played by Felisha Cooper), who is the captain of the cheerleading squad. Alex is flamboyant and arrogant, involved in a passionate relationship with the star player of the football team, Terry (played by Tom Williamson). However, she tragically dies in front of the camera while at the height of her glory. Following her death, Traci (played by Brooke Butler) takes Alex's position at the top, and Terry becomes hers. Heartbroken and determined to ruin the graduation ceremony for Terry and his gang of jerks, Maddy joins the chaotic cheerleading squad and grows closer to Traci, which worries her other friend, the peculiar Lina (played by Sianoa Smit-McPhee). On a wild night, a seemingly cursed argument and accident transpire. Lina tries to use witchcraft to bring Maddy back to life, but everything takes an even more unpredictable turn...
