David (played by Woody Harrelson) and Diana (played by Demi Moore) are a couple with a strong relationship, successful careers, and a happy life. However, the arrival of an economic downturn causes their jobs to decline, making it difficult for them to even maintain their housing. Unwilling to accept defeat, they decide to take a gamble in Las Vegas. Initially, they have great luck, but soon they lose all their money. At this point, an older, handsome millionaire named Gage (played by Robert Redford) offers to help them, but under the condition that he can spend a night with Diana in exchange for one million dollars. Eventually, the allure of money overcomes everything, and the couple signs an agreement, engaging in a scandalous deal. They return home and agree never to speak of it again, but contrary to their intentions, cracks begin to appear in their relationship. Just then, Gage re-enters their lives and passionately pursues Diana, leading David to leave the house in anger. Can this once-loving couple move past their issues? Does the millionaire truly love Diana, or does he have ulterior motives?
