The story takes place in 1986 along the Seine River in France, where a young photographer named Jean (played by Cyril Collard) learns that he has contracted AIDS, which plunges him into deep depression. In this low point of his life, he meets a girl named Laura (played by Romane Bohringer), who falls madly in love with him. Despite Jean confessing that he is attracted to men, Laura insists that she doesn't mind. One day, Jean meets a tall and handsome rugby player named Sami (played by Carlos López), and the two are mutually attracted to each other, quickly embarking on a sweet cohabitation. When Laura discovers Sami's existence, her profound love for Jean shatters her, and Sami leaves Jean as well. The terrible situation leads Jean to continue descending into despair, with only alcohol and drugs providing him with fleeting relief, and soon his life comes to an end.
