The story narrates how Tong Hu (played by Gao Fei), who betrayed his master, led his disciples to intrude at night to seize the hidden treasure sword of his sect. Although Tong Hu successfully defeated many disciples of the sect and found out where the sword was located, he struggled because to unlock the treasure, he needed the Seven Star Armor. The holder of the Seven Star Armor, Grandma Ma (played by Zhao Gangsheng), is a martial arts expert, but her grandson, Xiao Gouzi (played by Sun Guoming), has not delved deeply into martial arts due to his grandmother's doting and protection since childhood. However, after being confronted by his childhood friend Hu Niu (played by Zou Meiyi) with a strong attitude and suffering a dismal defeat by Tong Hu's disciples who came for the Seven Star Armor, Xiao Gouzi begins to realize that he should dedicate himself to martial arts. Thus, under Grandma Ma's arrangement, Xiao Gouzi takes the Seven Star Armor and goes to learn martial arts from his uncle Gou Bu Li (played by Liang Jiaren). One day, while visiting Grandma Ma with Gou Bu Li in the village, they unexpectedly discover that Grandma Ma has already been killed by Tong Hu and his group who came to seize the armor. Tong Hu and his group then launched an attack against Xiao Gouzi and Gou Bu Li to take the Seven Star Armor. Fortunately, with Gou Bu Li's help, the two managed to escape unscathed. Back at Gou Bu Li's place, Xiao Gouzi swears to train diligently in martial arts and avenge Grandma Ma.
