The President of the United States (played by Morgan Freeman) is severely injured and falls into a coma after a drone terrorist attack. His entourage is wiped out in multiple explosions, and the only survivor—presidential bodyguard Mike Banning (played by Gerard Butler)—becomes the prime suspect and is accused by the FBI of attempting to assassinate the President. Banning must clear his name while also stopping the actual assassination plan. With various forces pursuing him relentlessly, he has no choice but to seek protection from a mysterious figure...
