The drama is a psychological suspense story that tells about three individuals connected to a tragic murder case that occurred 15 years ago: a middle-aged investigator, an outsider within the police department; a once severe lawyer who was a prosecutor; and a young police officer who witnessed his father kill his mother. Their lives collapse because of this incident, and in a unique environment of personal atonement, they uncover the true nature of secret organizations within the police while searching for reasons to survive. Kim Hyeon-joo plays Han Tae-joo, a legendary secular lawyer. Initially on a smooth path as a prosecutor, she resigned after a serious injury sustained during a robbery at home and temporarily went abroad for recuperation. Upon returning, she established a law firm dedicated to serving wealthy criminals, deliberately defending criminals to create chaos, leading related individuals into conflicts and mutual destruction. Seo Kang-joon plays the suspicious police officer Kim Young-joon in the drama. He possesses excellent observation skills for understanding criminals, is brave, agile, and smart. However, due to his 'paranoia' of not trusting anyone, he teams up with the supervisory team leader and the secular lawyer to form an illegal investigation team.
